Their Excellencies letter to the populace from The Quill September 2004

Good Tidings and Salutations from Their Excellencies Khadijah and Rodrigo.

First off, we'd like to congratulate our newest Arts and Sciences Champion, Lord Toma Mikailovich Barsok. The competition was well attended and there were so many great entries that I'm certain everyone struggled with which entry to vote for. Thanks to all who put forth their entries for all of us to appreciate.

As I write this, I'm looking forward to a fun weekend with our cousins to the south at our joint event with the Barony of Coeur d'Ennui. We started doing this joint event to build up the friendship and comradery between our two Baronies and between Northshield and Calontir. This has been very successful. Deep friendships have formed and many people are attending events in each other's respective kingdoms. I would encourage you to get caught up in the momentum, take what opportunities you can to build new friendships by traveling to events not just in Northshield, but in our near neighboring Kingdom of Calontir. And if you have room in your vehicle, encourage someone else to travel with you so you can share the experience of finding new friends.

This provides an excellent segue into calling forth the Baronial Fighters, Waterbearers, Bards, and everyone else who can answer the call of our Prince. Our good friends of Calontir seem to be confused as to our southern borders at the Shire of Border Downs. We call you all forth to 'explain' where these borders are in battle, in song, and in friendship at Armorgeddon XIV. Our very own transplant HRH Yasamin and HRH Garrick will be sitting the throne of Calontir and will be personally leading Their troops to our instructions. Please answer the call of your Prince and of your Baron and Baroness and lets make this Armorgeddon one of legend that is sung of in both Kingdoms for many years to come.

In about one month, you will see the birth of your new Kingdom. This is the time to get caught up in the excitement and the pride that is flowing freely. It is also the time to come to the aide of our neighboring shires that are making the first two Kingdom events possible. Please volunteer some of your time at both Northshield Coronation and Crown Tourney and show our neighbors that we are here to support them in their endeavors as well.
