Their Excellencies letter to the populace from The Quill June 2003
Good Tidings and Salutations from Their Excellencies Rodrigo and Khadijah,
Summer is almost upon us and camping season has begun. Be prepared and be safe this summer. Check out the new publications on the baronial website articles link by THL Cinniu ingen Chuthbaid called SCA Camping 101: Guide for the First-Time SCA Camper and Campfires 101.
It is with pride that we congratulate our very own Stellar Excellencies Sir Aubrey Swyftwater and Baroness Mistress Anne Geoffreys of Warwick in Their victory in the Coronet Tournament. We are confident that you are as excited as we are to support Them in Their upcoming heirship and reign and thank you in advance for your service.
And it is with pleasure we congratulate our new Baronial Archery Champion, Lord Baalin Wolf. It was a very enjoyable competition to watch and the scores were very close to the end. But the victory was emphasized by a volley shot of quite a distance away where not only was Lord Baalin the only one to score, he was the only one who actually hit the target.
The Archery Moot continued to be a wonderful day with many short courts including one to change over the Archery Captain position to Lady Eustachia de Westwic. Special thanks to Lady Caoilfhionn inghean Cheallaigh ui Mhordha, both for her service in her previous role as Archery Captain and for organizing and running such a pleasant moot. Also, we'd like to thank Lord Etienne de Clermont for his planning and execution of some really fun shoots. It will come as no surprise that a lot more people pitched in this day to make it special, thanks to them is also well deserved.
It was with great pride that we get to tell you of the debut of the Nordskogen Baronial Fighting Unit at Quest for Camelot. Eleven fighters wore Nordskogen tabards and made everyone aware what support our barony provides to the Northshield Army. Compliments of the Nordskogen Fighting Unit's abilities and effectiveness were given from His Stellar Highness Leif, Earl Sir Tarrach, HRM Irel of the Outlands, and from many other dukes and knights of the Outlands. Nordskogen was well represented and its sense of community was well displayed. Special congratulations go to our champion and unit commander Lord Vlad and his chosen sub-commander for Quest, Lord Edwin for their leadership on the field. In addition to the great turnout on the field, we had many people from Nordskogen supporting our fighters by water bearing and with their bardic talents. For the fighters, the water bearers, and for our bards at Quest, VIVANT!
May sunshine always grace your face so shadow never will.
Rodrigo and Khadijah.
