From their Excellencies Nordskogen

Their Excellencies letter to the populace from The Quill January 2004

Good Tidings and Salutations from Their Excellencies Rodrigo and Khadijah,

Its going to be quite a year! The year Northshield becomes a Kingdom. It will be a time of great changes… new awards structure, new Order of Precedence, Kingdom Officers and Royalty being much more local, opportunities for all to step up and play a role in making the Kingdom of Northshield great, and the struggle to build our identity as a Kingdom. These changes will affect us all and therefore we should all step forward to make this process go as smoothly as possible, for the foundations of our future Kingdom are being laid by our efforts in the coming months. It will also be a time of memories and will bring feelings of sadness for many as we say goodbye to being a part of the Middle Kingdom. Happiness is found in more than the faith in our future Kingdom, it is gratitude for our past experiences in the Middle Kingdom and joy found in the present changing times. Let us all cherish our experiences and show our gratitude to the Middle Kingdom in friendship and in making its offspring, our future Kingdom of Northsield, something to be truly proud of.

Many of you are reading this after 12th Night has past and some right before it happens. We are confident that it will be a wonderful event and that the event staff will perform miracles giving us once again a truly magical 12th Night. Our thanks goes out to all who help make these miracles happen, they are not miracles of unknown magic, but miracles made from our combined efforts to make the event special for all.

In February we will be having a Town Meeting to discuss ‘Big Picture’ topics regarding what we want in the future for the Barony of Nordskogen. Please plan on attending and giving your input.

May sunshine always grace your face so shadow never will.

Rodrigo and Khadijah.
