Their Excellencies letter to the populace from The Quill August 2005

Good Tidings and Salutations from Their Excellencies Rodrigo and Khadijah,

Two years have passed in the blink of an eye, but the service that Master Owen gave to the Barony in that time is beyond measure. Please take the time to thank him for the work he did for all of us. Thank you Master Owen! Also, please give your congratulations and support to Lady Ellen as she takes over in the role as Seneschal.

Ever notice that the word 'WOW' is only one letter off from 'WW'. That seems so appropriate this year. It was an absolutely incredible WW. The weather was beautiful (if not too hot, but better hot than wet). The fighting was phenomenal on both the rapier and armored fields. I've heard many archers and thrown weapon speak to how wonderful these activities were. The youth fighting and activities were very prominent and well attended. The Baronial Festival was exceptional. Kingdom court wasn't hours long (thanks to Their Majesties). I could go on for hours on how perfect the event was. However, perfection doesn't come without work. Many, many people put hours and hours of efforts into making this event come off so well starting with the autocrats, Senora Iohanna and Mistress Rosanore and down. Please not only thank these people for their efforts, but let us know who contributed so much to this event so that we may recognize them as well.

Firsts are always magical: a baby's first steps or the first time they say 'Mama'; the first kiss; the first event you attended. Well, don't miss another first. The first time Northshield attends Pennsic as a Kingdom. The kingdoms of Calontir and the Outlands have already declared that they would fight beside Northshield at Pennsic. We are coming to the aid of the dragon who may for the first time in many years not be grossly outnumbered. This will be an event that bards write about, stories are told for many years, and experiences that are rarely had, don't miss it!
