From their Excellencies Nordskogen

Their Excellencies letter to the populace from The Quill August 2003

Good Tidings and Salutations from Their Excellencies Rodrigo and Khadijah,

What is foremost on our minds as we write this month's letter is how fabulous and wonderful WW X was for us. We owe great appreciation and gratitude to all who helped make the event come off so well. So many contributed their time in holding a staff position or volunteering their time. We deeply appreciate all of you who make this Barony great with your time and service.

It was also remarkable to see the armies of Nordskogen and Jararvellir take the field on Saturday afternoon. The sea of blue was truly well stocked with fish and flakes. Thanks to all who donned a tabard that day and showed the world two Baronies who can muster troops and impressively take the field in pageantry and honor.

Congratulations to Lady Ingileif Kettilsdottir for winning the Nordskogen Arts & Science Champion Competition. We warmly welcome her as our Arts & Science Champion and look forward to her leadership and example in the Arts & Sciences.

Reminder, at our September Folk Moot we will be determining the Baronial Executioner Position. The criteria for the competition will be the person who can put on a performance displaying themselves as the most fearsome. The individual must be a resident of Nordskogen and will be determined by applause.

Finally, war is upon us. Our King calls us forth to the battle front as the Dragon and the Tiger once more are at odds. We call upon our adult and youth warriors in armor, of rapier, of arrow, of throwing steel, and upon steed to take the fields. We call upon our bearers of water, our artisans and craftsmen, our bards, our scribes, and all who provide service and support to follow us to the front and meet the call of our King. Nordskogen, it is time to muster and muster we will. We look forward to seeing your shining smiles there.

May sunshine always grace your face so shadow never will.

Rodrigo and Khadijah.
