Their Excellencies letter to the populace from The Quill December 2006

Greetings and salutations from their Excellencies Rodrigo and Khadijah.

We recently enjoyed a fabulous day in our Canton of Nordleigh as they sponsored the Northshield Rapier Academy. It was inspiring to see our Squirrels scurrying around to make such an enjoyable event for everyone and to see many of them recognized for their skills and service with awards. Her Highness of Northshield also held Her Princess Sleeve Tournament this day and it was a great pleasure to fight against so many skilled fighters and be inspired by our own Princess Giulia.

Which segues nicely into giving congratulations to our new Heirs to the Crown of Northsield, Prince Hrodir and Princess Giulia. The Crown Tournament was absolutely edge-of-your-seat exciting to watch with so much talent taking the field and the pure energy from the combatants from their exuberance to be facing each other was intoxicating to all. It's days like this that make me so proud to be a part of Northshield.

Speaking of grand tournaments, we held our own Armored Combat Baronial Champion Tournament at our October moot. We had four combatants take the field for the honor of being champion and on this day, Filib MakNaughton won the day. Thanks to all the combatants for their honor on the field and congratulations to Filib who is our new Baronial Armored Combat Champion!

And for another nice segue, at our December Folk Moot, the Barony will once again be holding our Toys for Tots Armored and Rapier Tournaments. The different twist on it this year is in addition to the toy each fighter must bring to be admitted into the tournament(s), the populace will need to donate toys to keep their favorite fighter(s) alive with each toy amounting to a resurrection for a fighter. We look forward to these grand tournaments and to the charity of our Barony.
